The drive down to Twin Rivers Canyon Campground - scary switchbacks - luckily nobody was trying to pass us while we were driving the RV. It was bad enough when we passed someone in the jeep.

Dave got his fishing license while we're here. It was too hard to resist fishing in these rivers.

We decided to drive to Spruce Lake and when we arrived, this is what we saw...

But the trail was beautiful and the lake is so pretty!

Then on our one lane drive back down the mountain...
this moose jumped out in front of us.
He started running away as we rolled slowly down the road.
But the drop was so steep to the left and the mountain so steep to the right,
that he didn't really have anywhere to go.
We stopped for a bit and I took pics of the wildflowers along the road
to try to give the moose time to find a safe way up or down.

But he was always still there.
And finally he found a way down. Happy ending for all!
To celebrate seeing our first moose, we went to Feist Creek Restaurant on the drive home.
The restaurant's in the middle of nowhere, not sure we'd ever find it again if we tried, but it was pretty to sit and and the food and beverages were great.

Kootenai River Float
Our camp host's 22-year-old daughter drove us, and another couple, 10 miles down the road to Montana to float the Kootenai River the 17-river-miles to our campground.

This bridge marks the border between Montana and Idaho.
This river moved fast!!

This one didn't survive the hook removal...
but this opportunistic bald eagle swooped down and snatched the wounded trout for lunch.
He finally caught a big one!
Kootenai Falls
Kootenai Falls is the largest undammed falls in the state of Montana
The falls were also featured in two motion pictures - The River Wild and The Revenant
Another feature of the Kootenai River is the Swinging Bridge.
It is 100 feet above the waterway and is 210 feet long.
